This is to inform you that due to a confirmed bedbug sighting at Marty Indian School, the school will take precautionary steps to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of our students and staff.
As a result, Marty Indian School will dismiss students early tomorrow and begin Spring Break effective Thursday, March 5, 2026. This early start to Spring Break will allow time for the school to complete inspection and extermination procedures to address the situation.
Students will remain on Spring Break through the scheduled break period and will return to school on Monday, March 16, 2026, which will mark the beginning of the 4th Quarter.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take proactive measures to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.

Due to the extremely cold weather conditions expected throughout the day tomorrow, Marty Indian School will be closed on Friday, January 23, 2026.
We are aware of the severe cold forecast and do not want to challenge these conditions at the expense of the safety and well-being of our students and staff. This decision has been made from an abundance of caution to ensure everyone’s safety.
School will resume as scheduled on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Tomorrow, December 12, 2025, Marty Indian School will have a 2 hour late start for staff and students.
Due to icy roads and concerns with safe conditions on busses Marty Indian School will not have school for students. Staff will report as scheduled.
Tomorrow due to concerns of bed bugs we will be closed for spraying and stay closed Wednesday. We will resume Thursday November 21, 2025, as scheduled.

MIS elementary will be trick or treating tomorrow as there is no school on Friday! The tribal entities have graciously prepared for our elementary students to come tomorrow; this DOES NOT effect the Trunk Or Treat that will be taking place on Friday at the tribe and wasaka buildings.
